Game Tourney

I participated in a tournament for Super Street Fighter IV, Blazblue, and Black OPS. All console games. Me being a PC gamer, I took this very bad. I only had a few chances to play the games before and shooters with a analog stick is like alien technology to me. In Street fight i did not know how to do anything and picked a random character named Coby. Luckily my ability to button mash was well enough to win me the first round. But in the second round I lost horribly. In Blazblue again i played some kind of butler that could turn into a wolf in which i did very well in the first round. But again the second round comes around and takes me down. Now to Black Ops. I lost so horribly I find it hard to know why people like to play the game. This is the end of part one of this tourney and hopefully the end of my failures.

Game Review: The Neverhood

The Neverhood is a old puzzle game made in the early 1990's That features a character named Claymen and his travels though The Neverhood.

Gameplay 10/10

This game Itself is very difficult. Expect to spend several hours on each puzzle and several more wandering around not knowing what to do. The puzzles are entertaining (things like symbol translations and mix'match kind of things). The game Leaves you to figure out everything on your own. It makes you pay attention to every detail because at one point or another your going to use almost everything in the environment to finish some puzzle sooner or later. It lets you wander around the land world of the Neverhood with all sorts of knick knacks to keep yourself entertained such as The burping mushroom (i don't know what its actually called) which I could easily spend hours laughing there or go to the drain and spend another couple hours watching Claymen jump into it and into the unknown abyss below..

Graphics 9/10

The game was 100% claymation. This is extremely unique. Probably the only of its kind, The clay look makes the games look very appealing and makes you not expect any high quality graphics. But it also makes it look more comical.

Replay Value 10/10

Although like most puzzle games when you figure out the secret to figuring out the puzzles it loses its replay The Neverhood found a way around that. I found myself playing this game time and time again because of one thing. The Videos. They were so entertaining and hilarious i could not get enough of it. Even now after playing the game literally 20 times over i still want to go back and play the game again for the laughs. Also the game changes the puzzles every new game so the basic principles far solving the puzzles are there but they are slightly different to allow a fresh new puzzle every replay.

Story 8/10
When you first begin a new game, there is no intro so any sign of storyline seems non-existent. Though as you progress you find tapes that explain the history of the Neverhood and your job in it. Explaining any of it would be a spoiler so i will leave it up to others to play the game and find out.

Innovation 10/10

You probably wont find another game like this. The closest game i know of that can relate to this is portal. We all know how good of a game that is. Though they are still very different. The puzzles in this game are also very well made and boggle you down to your brain cells. It makes you think more than you need to.

Overall 10/10

I could say this is the best puzzle game in existence because of its comical (twisted) humor and its very intensive thought provoking puzzles but there can always be something better. Even so this is definitely a great and memorable game for me.

Game Review: Cave Story

Cave Story is a freeware side scroll game developed by pixel.

Gameplay 9/10

The game is a side scroller, so expect some platforming but in this game you get a gun to shoot down the baddies that get in your way. It has a gun level system which means that when you kill enemies and get EXP, the gun you are holding levels up. The game itself is also fairly difficult as you cannot set the difficulty. The game also has lots of bosses so if you enjoy those big fights you may enjoy this as well.

Graphics 5/10

This game is old and sprite based. So the graphics are very low end. Though its still good enough where you can enjoy the scenery and monsters.

Replay 9/10

After I beat this game I was very satisfied as it had very good gameplay and suddenly I found out that there was tons of extra content to be done. there was a secret *Hard mode* and secret bosses along with hidden weapons. For over a year I have been playing this game on and off because the game is so fun.

Story 10/10

You are a robot from the surface(earth) sent to wipe all life on a flying island. A man named the Doctor comes to the island long after the war with a group of scientists sent to explore the island. There he takes the islands crown and he makes himself king of the island. You as a third person in this conflict must stop the doctor from taking over the earth with the army he amasses on the island. There is much more to the story but that would be spoilers.

Innovation 8/10

Although this game was based off the sidescroll platforming genre the game has an original storyline and a unique way to progress the game. As with games like megaman
you would choose a map and boss that you want to face and you go through that level. In cave story Its a game which takes you through the inner caves of the island in a generic order. Though it lets you enter other areas and do other tasks such as secrets in certain times.

Overall 9/10

The game itself is amazing and the only thing keeping it from a 10 is the graphics. I enjoyed the difficulty as it kept me on my toes but was still possible.

Game Review: Mabinogi

Mabinogi is a Fantasy MMORPG which allows you to do pretty much anything you feel like.

Gameplay 7/10

The game has a point and click style play that lets you live an alternative life in a fantasy world. It has an aging system where your character gains 1yr of age every week along with the regular leveling system. This game is very confusing at first as it leaves you to fend for yourself when you start off. The combat system is very unique compared to most games. You click on an enemy to attack once and after that theres alot of confusing jumbo to explain and i still don't understand most of it myself. The game also allows alot of other content like fishing, farming, and even being able to own your own home. The game is very immersing but its VERY hard to get into. If theres one thing id like to fix about this game is that id make it USER FRIENDLY. This game has so much content and theres no way to figure out how to do everything without looking online for every little thing. Luckily i had a friend to show me the ropes so i didn't have as much trouble as the average newbie. But once you know how to do things the fun turns up. You start talking to people, going dungeon crawling, and overall just having fun.

Graphics 7/10

The game is kind of old so the graphics are somewhat outdated so you may find some shitty looking enemies. other than that The environments are well made and the game has good textures so you can enjoy the scenery.

Replay 8/10

This game is all about replay. This isn't a game you can just dip your toes into. If you want to play this game expect to put in some time and effort in order to actually be able to enjoy the game fully. The game also has a rebirth system where once you character has reached a certain age you can choose to remove you character and make a new character with same same stats, gear and money.

Story 9/10

This story is really confusing. something about Fomors (enemy creatures), a goddess and paradise. I gave it a high rating because it seems like the creators worked hard on this story because i cant understand it.

Innovation 10/10

This game is unique. A fantasy life simulator with combat. Wether you like music, battling, or casual play. You can probably find something you'll enjoy in this game.

Overall 8/10

This game is extremely fun when you have others playing with you doing whatever you like doing. If you have the patience and time to figure out how the heck you do anything in this game, it is definitely worth playing.

Experience: I spent several hours leaving my character on auto fish. I have caught more random items and equipment than i have fish. Now thats awsome.

Pokemon: So I herd you liek mudkips.

Game Review: Pangya

This is the first game I review. Now down to business. Pangya is a MMO Fantasy Golf game. Now Golf may not seem like It'd be an amazing game but this game is far more.

Gameplay 9/10

This game has simple controls so anyone can play it. Its very casual as you can choose to play in Duels against players online or your friends in team games and free for all's. or you can play more competitive like playing in Tourney's or joining a guild. The way to play is simple enough, choose a direction to hit your ball into, choose power, and make an accuracy check. But don't be fooled by the simplicity. Now there is items, power shots, and TROLLS (meaning this game WILL troll you). In order to be a good Pangya player it takes anger management (seriously), great reflexes, and good calculating. Requiring precise reactions and combo pressing in a short time. Even if you succeed in making the perfect shot, the Holes(or maps) will have several obstacles that will obstruct the course of your ball. This game has given me my fair share of rage's which makes the successful shots all the more satisfying.

Graphics 9/10

The graphics this game offers looks very visually appealing as it has Anime style graphics (which i am a big fan of) and the scenery looks very well made. The graphics aren't very pixelated and has good particles shown when you make a shot.

Replay 10/10

Each round can be from 10 min. to 2 hours long. I have played through all 16 18 hole courses several times and i am not tired of this game. The Hole location and Wind direction/Power changes every new game so don't expect the same shots to be made. The community is good so you won't get much shit for being a noob. It also has different characters and stats to cuztomize.

Story 6/10

As you would expect the story of a fantasy golf game isnt much. Once a Evil Lord took over the island of Pangya. (This may be wrong) And in order to defeat him one had to place special orbs into a specific location. But the orb was lethal if touched so the people used rods to move the orbs, but every time one would hit the orb it would lose some power. So when the people defeated the Dark Lord they celebrated by making a sport using the same method the heroes used to defeat the dark lord.

Innovation 9/10

Although a golf game isn't very original, you probably don't see crazy shots like the power curve, exploding golf balls, or Clubs with rocket jets attached to them in any other golf games. so i think its pretty self explanatory.

Overall 10/10

This game should be a template for future sports games to come. The fact that it has power shots adds to the amazingness of this game. Games should always add cool abilities to add to the excitement.

about myself

I game about 3 hours a day. playing all kinds of games from sports to RTS. Im an all around gamer and usually like being one of the top.

The last Starfighter

When i first started watching this movie i felt total boredom. as the movie progressed i felt less boredom. This movie lacked an exciting storyline and I felt overall not interested. The action scenes lacked excitement as the hero never got hit or was never in any real peril. Though i am fairly impressed in the graphics applied into this movie. I give this movie an overall 5/10 for some entertainment and good special effects.
